Eterniments (artist statement)
Art as a field of research and a means of communication through art space could represent a map that leads to a "hidden treasure", both for the artist himself and for the public experiencing that art.
The path to the hidden treasure, the precious pearl,, the blessings,... can open up in everyday moments that are simple and accessible. Such moments turn into
"eterniments", miraculous moments in time already imprinted in eternity capable of leading us into the zone of internal freedom.
Unicorns, princesses, castles and labyrinths (recognisable symbols from classic fairy tales), some griffins and the sphinx, exotic animals, unusual birds, flowers and butterflies are loaded with associative capacity. Symbols appear spontaneously and periodically to meet and some times unlock treasures through their encounters. Although they are well known, and may have general or universal meaning, most of the time they allow a different interpretation for everyone.
Symbols are like wheels, they are both a point of support and a driving force. They can stimulate internal movement, initiating the first step. They often break down the rationality of everyday life, thus enabling passage into the realm of wonders.
On the same sheet of paper, I overlap many layers, breaking and restoring the balance again Searching for the traces of lost elements, I bring them back to life with a new drawing, stain, or the smallest line. I often use procedures that include randomness thus reducing control, such as monoprints, prints, watercolour, spills, washing, soaking, spraying and other similar actions.
The road map is also a diary of experience.
